Why do we use computers

Robots will one day take over the world. The first computer was invented in the early1940s and took up a whole room, now we have 10 times or more of the processing power in our pockets known as phones. in a span of 70-80 years technology has advance so much that could be as little as the life span of 1 individual! With how fast technology is advancing and evolving can humanity advance as well and stay on top? one of the best qualities Humans have is their ability to adapt and keep innovating they will stay on top, but if they are stagnant then computers and robots pose a real threat to humanity.

If computers are going to rule our world, why do we continue to advance and even give the right to make decisions for us? well many see machine learning as objective and impartial but it’s still only as impartial as the person training it. Machine Learning uses a database to make decisions based on past records. basically, it’s just a fancy fortune teller predicting the future. but if the data is limited or biased the predictions will be as well.

Why do we let computers make decisions for us if they are biased and taking away our right to choose? Long story short, they are efficient. Computers can look at so much information way faster and more reliable than humans. data scientists look at data sets that are massive, have you ever seen a file so full that excel can’t load it? How is a human expected to look through that and remember that amount of information?

By making information sets available and protecting your individual pricy social progress will continue without giving up much of our humanity because we can be aware of where the information is coming from as well as still remain an individual.
